Previously, UGA's Ocean Initiative Club created a trash monster using items gathered throughout campus (the full story on that can be viewed here.) This time, ECOGIG tried their hand at creating a one of their own during their 2018 Ocean Discovery Camp. They even had enough to make a couple of friends (a crab and tube worm) for the monster they named Theresa. This is another reminder to be conscious of our overuse of plastics. Many plastics and even tiny, microscopic pieces of plastic have already found their way to our oceans and serve to add to the growing pollution problem.
