Research Emphasis:

Ecology and physiology of marine phytoplankton, with emphasis on the picoplankton; regulation of cell growth and division in cyanobacteria; dynamics of natural pico-cyanobacterial populations; combined application of flow cytometry and molecular biology to the taxonomy and physiology of marine phytoplankton and bacteria.
