Students in the Yager lab work on research projects ranging across the subjects of marine microbial ecology, seawater carbonate chemistry, and climate change. Recent field work has taken place in the Amundsen Sea, Antartica; coastal Barrow, Alaska; and the Amazon River and plume. Research questions tend to focus on some aspect of how climate change may be altering the marine biosphere and feeding back to climate through the global carbon cycle.
