Dr. Ingrid Obernosterer from the Laboratoire d’Océanographie Microbienne (LOMIC), Observatoire Océanologique de Banyuls, France will present a seminar titled: Microbial C- and Fe-cycling in the naturally iron fertilized Southern Ocean off Kerguelen Island (KEOPS2) on Monday Nov 24 in the Marine Sciences building Room 261.  See her home webpage for more information on her research interests  

Bryndan Durham, PhD candidate in the Deparment of Microbiolgy, working with Dr. Mary Ann Moran in Marine Sciences will present her dissertation titled, "Insights into the Ecology and Biogeochemistry of Ocean Microbes Revealed through Transcriptomics of Bacterial-Phytoplankton Model Systems".

Bradley Tolar, PhD candidate in the Deparment of Microbiolgy, working with Dr. Tim Hollibaugh in Marine Sciences will present his dissertation titled "The Influence of Environmental Factors Including Reactive Oxygen Species on the Spatial and Temporal Distribution of Marine Thaumarchaeota".

Dr. Bruechert will address aspects of the biogeochemical methane cycle in the Baltic Sea, the world's largest brackish basin, in the context of eutrophication and potential effects of climate warming.
