Ph.D. candidate Tommy Dornhoffer has been selected to participate in UGA’s Future Faculty Program. This program brings together award-winning teaching assistants from across campus to prepare them for their future jobs in academia.

Sylvia Schaefer successfully defended her Ph.D. research on the sources and fate of coastal nitrogen on June 23. Dr. Schaefer’s talk was entitled “Controls on Nitrogen Inputs, Loads, and In-Stream Concentrations in the Altamaha River, Georgia, and Beyond.”
The department was well represented at this year’s Gordon Conference on Marine Microbes. Graduate students Brandon Satinsky and Bryndan Durham presented posters on their Ph.D.
