Samantha Joye has had an exciting year so far! In addition to researching the Gulf of Mexico and the effects of offshore drilling for the Georgia Coast, she has also provided her scientific knowledge to BBC Earth and Alucia Productions.

Congratulations to Julia Diaz for this amazing accomplishment! According to the Sloan Foundation website,"these 126 early-career scholars represent the most promising scientific researchers working today.

Tim's journey continues...

Last report before we’re back in Chile.  We are currently on the northern side of the Drake Passage, doing 12+ kts with a following sea and 25 kt winds (for the non-sailors among you, this is good), which looks like this:

Tim is now in Port Lockroy, which is just around the corner from Palmer Station.
